I successfully free-motion-quilted the owls. Anticipating my own bad memory capacities I’ll document what I did step by step (I might miss some though):
Making the sandwich:
On the whole:
The quilting thread, Madeira Cotona:
The back, a bit wobbly:
This fabric is simply fabulous and funny:
Cut and ironed corners:
That’s where the border is supposed to be attached:
I won’t do a binding, just fold the back fabric over and sew it to the patchwork. I already did this last year for some summer blankets I made for my children. It is fast, easy and non-fuss. Just what I need to keep the rhythm going.
And now for something totally unrelated: I made earrings for a friend who ordered them matching a necklace she had purchased from me some time ago:
I so love it when the crafting mojo is intact!
Hmmm, new charms, new beads, soon new earrings…
Well, after a major concert in cough major, with many staccato, crescendo and repetitions, I am back I think (generosity is a virtue, but I’d rather not share my children’s cold…)
Some spinning took place, I managed to finish plying the January-Spunky-club-wool before the february arrival, and I even got to knit the front and back of a snug cabled sweater. Photos to come.
I had a nice occasion to present my jewellery in a public library and was quite fond of the showcase:
I did not make a fortune though 🙂
And then I saw something on the etsy-frontpage I absolutely had to have:
Butterfly- and bug-decals. From WilsonGraphics on Etsy. Very good service and quality. Now that made my day!
I absolutely have to take better photos!
I nevertheless wanted to put the necklace on Etsy today, because this blog is among others an anti-procrastination weapon: I’m a big “tomorrow-is-another-day”er, but when I say things publicly, I tend to be animated by a certain bad conscience if I don’t do them (yes, this is psychological war, round one 😉 )
Bohemian Valentine necklace
Inspiration came over for a visit this week, so I have been *cutting, and bending, and preparing, and arranging* (repeat from *to* a lot of times).
Courtesy of flashlight and lacking window, the colours are totally off 😉
There is still some bending to do:
I think it will be ready to be put on Etsy this weekend…
ETA: I transfered my jewellery to DaWanda 🙂
